The CP Wong Global Electronic Packaging Award is established in honor of Prof. CP Wong, who is a world-renowned scientific scholar, influential engineering practitioner, and well-respected academic educator in the global communities of electronic packaging. This award is conferred annually in the International Conference on Electronic Packaging Technology (ICEPT), which is sponsored by IEEE Electronics Packaging Society, to recognize outstanding elites with prominent contributions and achievements in electronic packaging. This Award is sponsored by the ICEPT Foundation and operated by an Award Board appointed by the ICEPT Foundation. The Award Board consists of one General Chair, one Executive Director, and six vetting members from Americas, Asia, and Europe.


This Award is conferred in two categories:

CP Wong Global Electronic Packaging Award (one individual per year)

By July 1st of the award presentation year, the recipient shall be beyond (and inclusive)45 years of age. The Award includes a medal, a certificate, and US$ 7,000 of cash prize.

• CP Wong Global Electronic Packaging Junior Award (one individual per year)

By June 30th of the award presentation year, the recipient shall be under (and inclusive) 45 years of age. The Junior Award includes a plaque, a certificate, and US$ 3,000 of cash prize.


The winners will be announced prior to the ICEPT 2025 Conference, to be held in Shanghai, China, August 5-7, 2025. Both Awards will be presented in the ICEPT conference. The round-trip travel expenses between the awardee’s location and the award ceremony will be covered by ICEPT.

Nominations are solicited for the 2025 CP Wong Global Electronic Packaging Award. Candidates must have demonstrated excellence with international recognition in the areas of research and development related to electronic packaging. The general selection criteria include:

• Impact of works

• Achievements in other fields

• Inventive value (patents)

• Influence in industry and academia

• Publications (articles, etc.)

• Quality of nomination package

• Originality of contributions

• Leadership in field (not required for the junior award)

The rules for nomination are as follows:

1. Self-nomination is not accepted.

2. One nominator and three endorsers are required.

3. Each nominator/endorser may nominate/endorse one candidate only.

4. Anyone on the Award Board cannot serve as either nominator or endorser.

5. The nominee is not required to have any membership of professional societies.


The nominator should be responsible for compiling a nomination package, including a nomination cover letter (must include the intended“Award Citation”), a summary sheet of contributions and achievements (limited to two A4 pages), three endorsement letters, CV of the nominee (limited to five A4 pages), and other supporting documents, if any.

Please submit the complete nomination package to the Executive Director of the Award Board (via email to rickylee@ust.hk), by 11:59 PM, UTC (Coordinated Universal Time), May 31, 2025. The Award Board will complete its deliberation and make recommendations to the ICEPT Foundation by June 20, 2025. The ICEPT Foundation will announce the result by June 30, 2025.
